The Rabbits got a drink of what victory tastes like last week against Westlake, a new school near Tooele. Delta pulled out a 28-14 win. Hurricane played 5A Skyline, outscored the Eagles 14-6 after the first quarter but lost 27-14. What do these opening games tell us about this weeks game? Hurricane is going to roll over the Rabbits.
After 21 first quarter points, Hurricane out ran, out threw and outplayed the Eagles. One pleasant surprise was junior RB Robert Reeve. Not getting many touches the first half, Reeve ended up being the Tigers leading rusher and leading receiver and scored the second Hurricane TD of the game. Reeve led the very balanced running game with 49 yards, with Diamonte Hubbard and Jacob Pugh combined for 72 respectively.
Delta will need to establish themselves early to stay in this game. They, like Hurricane were hit with the graduation bug last year and have few players sporting varsity time. However, the Tigers have a boat load of weapons and will be able to get back on the winning side.
