Trio of Tigers Take All-State Title

November 2nd, 2008 · No Comments · Hurricane Volleyball

Led by 3A Tournament Most Valuable Player Megan Clyde, three Hurricane Tiger volleyball players made the first team in the recent 3A State Tournament.

Clyde, a four year starter, led the way again for the Tigers, who won 27 games this season. “She is the best setter in 3A and one of the best in the state,” said Tiger Coach Daniel McKeehan. Clyde is an all-state and all academic all-stater as well. Clyde, perhaps the greatest volleyball player in Tiger history, has set a mark that will be very tough for anyone to surpass.

“She is number one all-time in sets. Number two and number three,” said McKeehan when intereviewed on totalUTAHpreps.com. “It is nearly impossible to put into words what she has meant to this program.”

Senior Jordan Ha also made the first team. A libero, Ha has been a constant force for Hurricane for three years.

Kara Cotter earns her second straight all-state honor. Only a junior, Cotter is one of the top outside hitters in Tiger history.
